Comments:
I bought this bike to replace my 2011 Giant Defy Advanced 2 which I really love. My main reason for replacing was the availability of disc brakes. In comparing my 2011 with my new 2015 Defy Advanced 2 I noticed that Giant dumbed down the new models a bit, for example the 2015 models come with a cheaper saddle, my 2011 came stock with a Fizik Aliante saddle, the 2015 came with a cheap Giant branded saddle, the Fizik is only available on the Pro models and up. The redesign of the seatpost clamping system is IMHO a step back, I wish they would stayed with the older external clamp system. On my first ride the seatpost gave up. Also all the components on this specific model are 105 except for the crankset which replaces the 105 crankset with a cheap RS500 (Never heard of it before). Don't take me wrong, I really love the bike and the responsiveness, the 11 speed makes a big difference. I have greater confidence downhill because of the disc brakes, I can actually descend at speeds of about 37MHP with much more confidence than I used to with the traditional rim brakes.

Comments:
I have been shopping for fours years and suffered from information overload. I had a price in mind of 3000 and Eric at Pro Cyclery asked all the right questions before he put me onto my new Giant. I have been riding my Specialized Stumpjumper FS for over 21 years and this Giant is awesome. After spinning hard for three years it was time for a true road bike and this bike exceeds my wish list. for a small shop Pro Cyclery in Vegas is big on customer support and satisfaction. Eric took over an hour to specifically fit the bike and really ran me through the paces with technology I had never ridden before. Great bike, great shop and great riding on the west side of Las Vegas...

Comments:
Replacing my 2008 GT GTR Pro, I'm in love with this bike. The Defy's slightly more relaxed geometry suits my needs so much better than compact geometry of the GTR. I plan to wear out this set of tires very quickly :)
