Service Advisor

Position: Full Time

Compensation: $48,000 - $72,000 per annum DOE. 

Hours: Flexible including weekends and holidays 10AM to 6PM.

Folsom Bike, in beautiful Northern California, is looking for a motivated Service Advisor to provide the best customer experience at either of our retail locations. 

A bit about us and the Service Advisor Position

  • We are looking for a competent, friendly service advisor to join our Team. The individual in this role would act as the point of contact for our automotive customers, from the initial greeting, to service explanation, to payment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a compassionate and patient attitude, critical thinking skills, and the ability to perform basic math.

Duties Breakdown

  • Greet customers upon arrival to the store
  • Ascertain reason for customer visit through verbal interview and visual assessment of bicycle
  • Explain all service options to customers including time and cost estimates
  • Track maintenance or repair status, create work orders on labor and cost of all services
  • Perform a full active delivery with customers and answer any questions they may have
  • Perform customer service duties i.e answering the phone, scheduling service appointments, and calling customers to inform them their bikes are ready for pick up
  • Manage shop workflow and schedule for mechanics and technicians


  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ year in the outdoor, automotive, motorcycle, and/or bicycle industry preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills required
  • Bicycle mechanic experience preferred
  • Ability to explain work performed and expectations to visitors who may not be familiar with industry terminology
  • Compassionate, patient demeanor as well as an ability to quickly problem solve for customers and de-escalate aggrieved customers 
  • Problem solving/critical thinking skills required
  • Selling experience required
  • Strong work ethic and desire for personal improvement
  • Candidate must pass a criminal background check
